“When we treat children's play as seriously as it deserves, we are helping them feel the joy that's to be found in the creative spirit. It's the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives.” ― Fred Rogers

Eleanor & Park

Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell I could have handled a bit more resolution, but I did appreciate the love story and how gentle the relationship started between the characters. I would love to meet Eleanor and Park some day and see how things turned out. What were the three words...traditionally I think "I Love You" but with Eleanor it could be "crazy asian boy" or "I miss you".
What do you think?

For Women Only, Revised and Updated Edition: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men

For Women Only, Revised and Updated Edition: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men - Shaunti Feldhahn Very insightful and encouraging. Good overview of what guys say is most important for them...

Ready Player One

Ready Player One - Ernest Cline I <3 the 80s and this book ROCKED!!!<br/>So much fun and so many flashbacks.
I loved the adventure and comradery...
...and the HAPPY ENDING!!!! YEAH!!!

From Norvelt to Nowhere

From Norvelt to Nowhere - Jack Gantos A great continuation of jack's story. I liked the twists and turns. Great road trip story as well. Perfect listening experience on our vacation road trip to Virginia.

Wedding Night: A Novel

Wedding Night - Sophie Kinsella I listened to this book during my commute. At first I was a bit Leary because of the not so stellar reviews, but I ended up enjoying it because it was almost like a bbc serial.

16 Things I Thought Were True

#16thingsithoughtweretrue - Janet Gurtler This was well done. I really liked the way that social media was handled and how the main character had to work through a sticky situation created by an embarrassing post. But that wasn't the only issue in the story. Parents, cancer, boyfriends, summer jobs, so many topics handled in a very REAL fashion. I also like the hopeful ending.

Coffee with Jesus

Cool English Level 2 Pupil's Book (Cool English) - Herbert Puchta Very Interesting. Especially since I read it while drinking coffee in the morning when I am usually talking with Jesus. ;-)

The Dream Thieves (Raven Boys Quartet)

Young Children's Literacy Development and the Role of Televisual Texts - Browne Naima SO not fair that we have to wait wait wait wait wait for book number 3!!!!!

One Moment

One Moment - Kristina McBride Realistic fiction is not my main genre, but this book had enough to keep me going and want to get to the end. Death, amnesia, broken hearts, unrequited love... hopeful ending...yeah...it was good enough.

The Confident Mom

The Confident Mom - Joyce Meyer Very straightforward and encouraging. I should pick this one up at least once a year!!

The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys - Maggie Stiefvater Maggie Stiefvater ROCKS!!
I love her story telling and the voice of Will Patton reading this is amazing! He really gets those Virginia accents spot on...makes me think of my grandfather... I am already into the next one and sad that I will have to wait for the 3rd and 4th of the series!!

Let's Pretend This Never Happened: (A Mostly True Memoir)

Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir - Jenny Lawson I almost drove off the road laughing. What was my friend thinking to recommend this as an audio book. I almost died laughing! Thanks Suzy...:-p

Fangirl

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell Oh my! That was awesome! I want to write fanfiction about the characters just to continue the story cause I LOVE Cath so much... Is there a college year 2, Ms. Rowell??

The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green Thanks John Green. You made me laugh, you made me cry, you made me think. Job well done.

Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate)

Soulless - Gail Carriger, Gail Carriger I read this to follow up on Ms. Carriger after reading her new Youth series. It is interesting, but not as smooth a read as her newer titles. I am going to try book 2 and see if it gets a little less bumpy.

The Book Thief

The Book Thief - Markus Zusak I knew it was going to be heavy, but it was just SOOOOO LOOONNNGGGG and heavy.
I need some happy happy thoughts now people!!!
